On the other, Roderick Enterprises — craftsmen who shaped some of Southern California's most iconic luxury estates. Both bloodlines converge in Trapper Roderick and the team behind Roderick Builders.

Got Here.
The Beginning
In 1900, Soren N. Jacobsen started building Iowa farmhouses for $1.00 a day. Following the 1906 earthquake, he moved to San Francisco to help rebuild the city. Eventually, Soren's talents led him to the Salt Lake Valley, where his commitment to client satisfaction fueled rapid business growth. In 1922, he officially founded Jacobsen Construction on a foundation of hard work, determination, and integrity.

Building an Institution
Soren's sons join the firm in the 1930s, steering the company through the Great Depression and into an era of unprecedented growth. Under the leadership of figures like Ted C. Jacobsen and later Leo Jacobsen, the family business becomes a regional powerhouse — the builder behind hospitals, universities, high-rises, and 33 LDS Temples worldwide.
Generation 2 · Institutional ExcellenceTwo Families, One Trade
Stephen Jacobsen — Trapper's maternal grandfather — continues the Jacobsen legacy. Meanwhile, on the Roderick side, Travis Roderick grows up in the trades through Roderick Enterprises. Two building families, working on opposite ends of the spectrum, raising a new generation with sawdust in their blood.
Generations 3 & 4 · Two Lineages ConvergeCalifornia Luxury
Travis moves to Los Angeles and enters ultra-luxury residential construction. Over the next two decades he builds alongside world-renowned architects like Paul McClean and Thomas Juul-Hansen, crafting landmark estates across Bel Air, Brentwood, Malibu, and the Hollywood Hills.
LA Division BeginsThe Apprentice
Trapper Roderick joins his father Travis in LA as a laborer and superintendent. Learning the craft from both sides — Travis on the jobsite, Stephen Jacobsen on the institutional side. The University of Utah's entrepreneurship program sharpens the business instincts.
Generation 5 · From the Ground UpThe Entrepreneur
Before returning to building full-time, Trapper starts True Gentleman Supply Co. — a haberdashery — and runs it for seven years. It proves what the family already knew: the entrepreneurial DNA runs deep. The venture is sold in 2019.

PresidentFifth-generation builder. Grew up on job sites. Trained under both Travis Roderick and Stephen Jacobsen. University of Utah entrepreneurship grad. Founded True Gentleman Supply Co. before returning to the family trade. Trapper leads all Park City operations and personally manages client relationships from discovery through handoff.

President, California DivisionGrew up in the trades through Roderick Enterprises. 30+ years in luxury residential construction. Licensed in California since 2003. Built alongside architects Paul McClean and Thomas Juul-Hansen on some of LA's most iconic modern estates. Travis leads all Southern California operations.
Zachary Anderson
COO & Head of ConstructionCo-founded Roderick Builders alongside Trapper in 2017. Oversees project management and field operations across Utah. Ensures every build meets the Roderick standard for quality, timeline, and budget transparency.
